It needs no elaboration that the very motto of education is to ensure the highest excellence and amazing development which exclusively lie in the all-round development of the pupils. As viewed by the Greatest Western Philosopher Pestolozzi : “Education is the natural, progressive and harmonious development of man’s innate powers”.Keeping in view the noblest ideology of Mahatma Hansraj, the great crusader of DAV Movement, DAV/TTPS Higher Secondary School, NTPC/Talcher Thermal, came into existence in 1996 which was handed over to DAV College Managing Committee and National Thermal Power Corporation, a Central Government Undertaking.
The School is situated in a salubrious surrounding which has its own glorious history as the number one and the best result giving institutions in the entire district of Angul. The school is imparting quality education through smart classroom teaching system as per the steel framework of DAV system of education to +2 students of both Science and Arts stream having a strength of about 450 students with a team of 13 highly qualified, dedicated and experienced teaching faculties.
The school is affiliated to Council of Higher Secondary Education, Department of Higher Education, Government of Odisha. The institution is equipped with the required infrastructure to provide healthy atmosphere for academic excellence.Our school Provides a favorable setting best suited to the harmonious development of the students.
We prepare an Annual Scheme of work on academic as well as cultural activities in our school as per the guidelines of CHSE (Odisha). Positive ideas and ideals are inculcated in students regarding personal hygiene, neatness of uniform, cleanliness of surroundings, graceful manners, obedience and discipline. A team of well trained, sincere, dedicated teachers has been working in this institution who leave no stone unturned to act as role model for the students to ensure their all round development by means of intensive individual care, special coaching and consistent effort.Our school imparts teaching in two Higher Secondary streams, that is +2 Arts and +2 Science. The NTPC Management has provided unstinted support and co-operation in the academic and non-academic per suits of our institution.
To inculcate more values in the students, the school starts everyday with the morning assembly which includes recitation of Gayatri mantra, prayer ,patriot songs, thought of the day, National Anthem, National song/DAV Anthem. Short speeches are delivered by the students and the teachers on various important subjects, current events and issues. Sacred Hawan is performed time to time to enlighten the students spiritually and morally.Aiming at all-round development at personally, different types of co-curricular activities are organized by the CCA department in the school aiming at the nourishment of physical, mental, ethical and aesthetic aptitude and attitude of the students where the teachers remain as guide, counselors and path-founder. Seminars, workshops and counseling programms are organized regularly to expand their knowledge.
We expose the students to hobbies like reading, singing, dancing, public-speaking, gardening and ensure that discipline becomes a second nature of the student, Individual and consistent monitoring of every student enables the teacher to recognize the area of interest where a particular student can excel students with similar interest and inclination are grouped together and then the teachers help them to nurture and cultivate their talents.The school arranges picnic/community lunch, educational tours for the students to historical places, museums, factories, research institutions etc. to give them knowledge and information. Arts and Craft and science exhibition are organized every year by the students under the able leadership and guidance of their teachers. Student counseling programs are arranged in regular intervals.
The sports day, prize distribution ceremony is celebrated during the academic session as an auspicious occasion with an august gathering of parents, students, distinguished luminaries and chief guest.In order to establish a healthy rapport between the teachers and parents, parent-teacher meetings are usually held periodically to apprise the parents of the academic progress of their wards.We are striving hard and putting best effort to give the best result in the academic and non-academic sphere.
